Dr. Vassil Mihov is an
Associate Professor of Finance, Beasley Fellow, and Ralph Lowe Energy Institute Faculty Fellow at the Neeley School of
Business, Texas Christian University. His
research expertise is the areas of debt financing, capital structure, and
options markets. Most recently, he has examined the effect of COVID-19 and its politization on government interventions, business policies, economic activity, shareholder value, and society. His article "CEO Political Leanings and Store-Level Economic Activity during COVID-19 Crisis: Effects on Shareholder Value and Public Health"
is scheduled to appear in the October 2022 issue of The Journal of Finance. His publications have previously appeared in Journal
of Financial Economics, The Journal of Finance, and The Accounting Review, among others. Dr. Mihov
teaches EMBA, MBA, MSBA, and undergraduate courses, including the honors cohort Neeley Fellows. Dr Mihov has been recognized with numerous
teaching awards, including the Neeley Graduate
Teaching Award (twice), Neeley Fellows Distinguished
Faculty Award, the Pi Beta Phi Outstanding Professor Award, and has been named
an MBA "Favorite Professor" and a Mortar Board Preferred Professor multuple times. His
professional experience includes work as a licensed commodity broker and a
business consultant. He holds a B.A. in Economics and Business Administration
from Graceland College and Ph.D. in Finance from Purdue University.
