Brief Biography

Education

My undergraduate degree is in economics from the University of California at Berkeley.  I began my graduate work in economics at the University of Utah.  I finished in the Eccles School of Business with a PhD in finance.

Research

My research interests are in corporate finance, corporate governance, law and economics, organizational structure and design.  Specifically I have examined shareholder activism and voting, insider trading in derivative securities, board structure and executive pay, the wealth effects of lawsuits, and the value and incentives of employee stock options.

Professional Experience

I recently served as an Academic Fellow for the United States Securities and Exchange Commission.  While there I provided litigation support and economic analysis of regulatory policies.

I currently provide economic consulting for Equity Methods LLC.

Teaching

My teaching interests are aligned with much of my research.  I primarily teach courses in corporate finance and managerial economics.  I have taught undergraduate, graduate, and PhD courses.
